A blog by Clint Combs

This morning I've been trimming back the number of weblogs I have stored in FeedDemon. In the process I've noticed a couple common themes that run through weblogs that I no longer read.

While deleting weblogs I found that they all had one of two attributes: too prolific and too prolific.

People like Dave Winer are too prolific in that they produce too many entries on a daily basis. I don't have time to run through 20 entries on a single weblog, especially when much of the content can be found at new sites. I deleted Dave.

The second kind of prolific is the long-winded type. I simply don't have time to read excessively long ramblings unless they're really important. Goodbye to that kind of prolific too.

I see more and more of these types of blogs popping up and drawing less of my attention.
