A blog by Clint Combs

Today tropical storm Bonnie spawned a tornado on the northwest side of Jacksonville and hurricane Charley is expected to pass through early Saturday morning.

Early this afternoon while listening to talk radio at work I heard an announcement that there was a tornado warning for Duval county. I immediately called my wife to let her know. I didn't think much more about it, but found out later that the tornado had done quite a bit of damage on the west side.

It did enough damage to make the national news. I received calls from my mother and aunt in the space of fifteen minutes tonight with concerns about the weather.

Hopefully hurricane Charley passes through with little incident. We have many large trees that could easily threaten the house.
