Lynch's Irish Pub lost it's namesake and owner last Friday when he leapt to his death. Desmond Lynch was aboard the SunCruz Casino boat when he approached two other passengers and said, "There's a bomb on the boat - everybody's got to get off. The terrorists are attacking." Then he jumped into the ocean. The Coast Guard tried to save him, but was unsuccessful.
I didn't know Desmond, but I frequented Lynch's on a regular basis when I was single. I'll never go there again without thinking about his bizarre death.

Re: Lynch's Loses its Namesake
I knew Desmond and his wife Nicola and
I must say if anyones life ended too
soon it was his. My thoughts are with his wife and family, and he was a incredibly fun and humorous man to work for.
Im very sorry and very suprised at his sudden death. We will always remember him and Lynch's will never be the same.

I am truely sorry for the loss of Des, he was such a funny man, so full of life. I empathize with the family, staff and friends close to him. I don't believe I have ever worked for such a wonderful group of people. It just won't be the same without Des.
