Technology Review is reporting that Wal*Mart is test marketing a $199 computer with gOS installed on it. The gOS operating system is a variant of Ubuntu Linux and is "heavily oriented toward Google's Web sites and online applications". There have been rumors for a long time that Google would create an Ubuntu-based distribution. It looks like someone beat them to the punch - or maybe they're working together on this(?).
